Getting your eyes tested
Sunderland Eye Infirmary offer a fantastic service for people with learning disabilities whether they are coming in for eye operations, eye tests or other appointments.
The Eye Infirmary have always been forward thinking in their care and treatment of people with learning disability.
“Sunderland Eye Infirmary is a hospital that is here to help you with your eyes.
There are lots of different departments and the staff will show you where you need to go .
The departments are :-
Cataract Treatment centre , Out patients B ,Optometry , Orthoptics ,Out Patients A , Operating theatres , Glaucoma /Mayling Unit , Macular unit and Haygarth Outpatients .
There is Haygarth Ward that you can go to for treatment or operations on your eyes .
There is also an Emergency Department for accidents or emergencies that happen to your eyes that is open all the time “.
